What?! A post?!

I know, right? Whose blog is this anyway? I thought those Brenden and Natalie McQuay folk died or something.

Those Brenden and Natalie McQuay folk are indeed alive and doing fairly well. However, that status may change after the graduate school tuition bill and payment go through. Yes, I said graduate school tuition. For anyone that actually reads this thing and has no idea what's going on in our lives: Brenden officially started his master's of music program at the University of Georgia yesterday. Meanwhile, I officially started being a lonely, bored homebody yesterday. What a coincidence!

No, but, seriously. While Brenden begins his new adventures in graduate school learning cool things and playing cool instruments and writing huge papers and reading huge books, I'll be job searching/volunteering/unpacking/trying to remember to cook dinner on time.

A little story on what a horrible housewife I currently am: You know how I said yesterday was Brenden's first day of graduate school? Guess who was at home all day yesterday and didn't even make dinner. Me. And then when we made dinner together at 11 o'clock AT NIGHT we discovered that one of the main ingredients we used had expired and ruined the entire dish. Luckily, Athens (home of the University of Georgia) realizes it's a college town (unlike other towns we may or may not have lived *cough cough* Provo) and has reasonable hours for college students, so we ordered a $6 pizza from Bulldawg Pizza and finished dinner close to midnight. Yeah. Welcome to graduate school, Brenden! I love you!

Today's dinner was earlier (at 6 o'clock!!) Plus five points for me. But it was yesterday's pizza. Minus ten. And he got sick. Minus fifty. My dinner score for today -55. That in addition to yesterday's dinner failure brings my dinner score to -155. These are only scores since Brenden started graduate school. I mention this because before yesterday and today I made homemade won ton soup and chicken and gnocchi soup (I was on a soup binge) and we had ravioli and salad and dinner was at a decent hour and, guys, I thought I could handle this whole housewife thing. And then yesterday happened and it was time for me to pick up Brenden from school and the only things I had eaten all day were a bowl of Lucky Charms and handfuls of King's Hawaiian bread (because that how I grabbed it) and I simply had not even thought about making dinner.

Anyway, now that I'm a college graduate and currently jobless, I anticipate more blogposts in the future! I should probably do dinner on a regular basis first.

Next post may or may not include a catch up on our summer and/or moving into our new place.
